Can anyone recommend a good psychic?

Just that really. Not interested in people who don't believe in it, just recommendations. Thank you.

No, no one can because there is no such thing. Spend your money on literally anything else.

Iflyaway · 02/12/2021 20:52

Ps. I'm 66 and know what I am talking about.

I also have my feet planted firmly on the ground!

Good luck OP.

Don't attach yourself to doubters. They are just projecting.

@Iflyaway

Sad that these threads always immediately pile on with people "I know better than you!"

But have never had a psychic experience in their life. No, of course they don't know nothing about it.

Why don't you buy Soul and Spirit magazine OP, or Kindred Spirit. It will start you on your journey. Much more reliable than any random on MN who just love to bring people down.

Good luck!

If someone wanted spend money on fairies or catching a dragon or unicorn tears... it's wasted. I can't prove any of those don't exist but I'd bet a million dollars.

As a quote associated with Uri Gellar says, "if someone is bending spoons with their mind, they're doing it the hard way".

Then you might like threads about these subjects:

My mum is 72. She believes all kinds of shite too.

I agree.
And yet religion, that's no different imo, is something that has respect written into law.

rjacksmiss · 02/12/2021 21:01

If it gives someone hope during a bad time then it can't be that bad.

I mean - praying and worshiping a man up in the clouds during bad times isn't any more sane, is it?

Feilin · 02/12/2021 21:12

Bryan lynch belfast. Not a great believer in psychics but he did a brilliant reading .hiw i have no idea but he did.

Someone taking money from a grieving person for pretending to talk to their deceased loved one isn’t that bad?

@TheLeadbetterLife

If they are comforted by it. It's probably the lesser evil to be fair. Let's get into religion eh? Gon justify it being any better?

Hen2018 · 02/12/2021 22:26

There aren’t any good psychics, as it’s a pile of old bollocks.

I’m sure there are people who are pretty good at being devious, manipulative and preying on the sadness of bereaved people.

Aye, projecting common sense and the fucking decency not to rip off the bereaved.

There are plenty of con artists in religion too (always have been), and yes, they’re every bit as bad.

There is the choice of:

c) None of the above

Mosbiusdesigns · 03/12/2021 01:46

@NEbotherpet

Karen Dawson psychic medium. She's on Facebook does face to face or video call x
I saw her years ago at a friend's house, she did readings for a group of us.
TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 04/12/2021 11:07

Really? So what is it that these mediums (media?) are supposed to do? It seems that they are credited with several hazy and overlapping abilities:

  • Seeing into a subject’s past and relating details of it, without the help of a dead person. *As above, with the help of the dead. *Talking directly to a dead relative of a subject.
  • Passing on messages from the dead.
  • Seeing into the future... be it with or without the help of the dead!

Dear lord, why? How can anyone believe this? Is there not a point at which common sense and critical thinking kick in and makes you realise what bollocks this must be?
I find it quite depressing that educated adults can still believe such nonsense.

voldr · 04/12/2021 11:36

If seeing a psychic gives you peace of mind then fair enough OP buy for gods sake don't give these people any money.

gonnabeok · 05/12/2021 10:28

Doubters should go and find something else to do just because you don't believe doesn't give you the right to feel the need to warn an adult who is quite capable of making their own decisions in life. The OP didn't ask for your warnings so jog on.....

Olliesocks · 05/12/2021 10:32

Believers should do some research in to cold reading and hot reading.

Mosbiusdesigns · 05/12/2021 11:36

I've been watching derren brown on YouTube do 'psychic readings'. He said to one woman he had a young man there, she said it's her ex boyfriend. He said he's giving him the name Charles or Charlie and Thomas or Tom, it wasn't his name but the name of someone else, she said that's her ex husband. Derren said the man he had with him had dimples when he smiled, she said he did.

Another one he said a woman was coming through, gave a vague description and a woman in the audience said it was her grandmother I think, anyway, he said she's been trying to give you a message it's come to you in the form of an escalator or elevator and she said she'd dreamt about her dead relative and her in an elevator. He also said she collected hats or had a lot of hats and the woman said yes her grandmother did..

I know he's using techniques to do it, he doesn't claim to be actually psychic, but....how! I watched a thing on this morning which took place after some drama about Sally Morgan. A psychic and a magician were on there. The magician said he used to give psychic readings, he used barnum statements and cold reading etc. He said barnum statements apply to everyone but none of the 5 he read related to me and none of it was specific, obviously. So how do derren and other 'specific' psychics do it?

I get the beginning bit 'I've got a man here, he died before his time and he has dark hair' and someone says yep that's my ex boyfriend. I see how that's vague and in a large group, likely to apply to someone. But knowing the names? Dimples? Elevator dreams? Hat collection? How does he know those specifics? Is there anything more in depth someone can point me to to get more details about how to do cold reading?

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 05/12/2021 15:50

@Mosbiusdesigns sometimes they get lucky, sometimes they don't.
I saw Derren Brown do it live... he told a woman her dad's hobby and nickname (correctly) FGS! She cried.

Conversely I went to a psychic meeting many years ago. She told me I was pregnant, but being the size of a house anyone could have told me that. She threw everything vague at me and nothing stuck. Eventually she got onto my grandfather, saw him in uniform (most people's DGF had been in WW2 then) and said something about him being British and patriotic... he was Polish! The whole meeting was a shambles.

I recently had a sitting with a gentleman called Dan Clarke, i live in England. He was absolutely spot on, i was very impressed.

I’ve had several reading with Dan over the years, he’s good.
Sharon May who is near Bridgewater is also good. Very nice lady too.
Google Molly Bryant, best one I’ve ever come across, I travelled over 100 miles to have a reading from her she’s so good. 100% genuine and amazingly accurate.

Google exists. So does FB, Insta and all the others. People buy tickets with their contact details. I'm not saying this was what Derren did. I am saying that people doing it WITH THEIR MINDS are doing it the hard way.

Rubbish, they’re all either cold or hot reading or a combination of the two.
