Just wondering about this names massive boom in popularity, did I miss a book/film/celebrity with the name?

Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely name but I’m a supply teacher and I’ve gone from never having met an Arlo in my life to their being one in every reception class!

I called my horse Arlo. I bought him in 2004. It wasn't popular then. I had heard the name years ago. A little boy of about 7 drove his pony and cart to the pub. I heard his mum call him Arlo. Years later, the little boy grew up to be a farrier and came with my regular farrier to shoe my horses. My farrier said to my horse 'Arlo, meet Arlo!'

I have an older son called Arlo. I'd been bought up in a house if music, so was always aware of the name because of Arlo Guthrie. But, boy, it's exploded now!

It's a nice name.
I would have said it makes a change from your glut of overused Henrys, Olivers and Archies, but it will soon be in the same category itself if every reception class now has one!
