Stretching shoes? Does it work?

I bought some shoes online on a black Friday sale. I was delighted with them. They were delivered today.

Unfortunately they seem to be a little bit too tight. I think I got sizes and eu size wrong and ordered a 6.5 instead of a 7. I hate returning things. I tried to give them to my mom but she's claiming they are tight for her too.

I googled stretching shoes and there are ways to stretch shoes. The shoes fit me in length but they seem to to be slight tight around where the toes bend. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Would stretching shoes work. I read I could fill a bag with water and put them in the shoes in the toe part and freeze overnight. I think that option might work. What do you think?

I bought a pair of shoe stretchers on Amazon which seem to do the job. It took a few days to stretch a pair of trainers, so it's not a quick job.

Wet newspaper is meant to stretch leather but I’ve never tried it. The only way I have ever stretched leather boots was in my younger years when my sister who has slightly bigger feet then I, wore them around the house and stretched them for me!

Try putting a few potatoes in.

You can buy spray and stretchers, but it’s never properly worked for me, i think some cobblers do it too.

I bought a lovely pair of shoes my size but just a little too tight. I bought some wooden shoe stretchers cheap off amazon. I left them in a few days, leaving the shoes in the sun when I could, and now they are a pure joy to wear. When I was younger I took a pair of shoes to a cobbler and also was happy with that outcome.

Using ice expansion sounds genius, dunno what effect it could have on the leather though?

I've always taken them into the cobblers and they get stretched on a machine for a day or 2.

Stretched a pair a whole size before. Game changer for a shoeaholic like me.

I have wide feet, and shoe stretchers from Amazon work a treat for me. I put them in, leave them for a few days, try on and see how they feel then put them back in either to the same number of turns so that they stay stretched or a bit more and repeat

My mum always used to get her sister to wear shoes that she’d bought that were too tight. A few hours of wearing them round the flat and they’d be fine. My aunt was a half size bigger than my mum.
