Hi, could someone shed some light on what a section 17 is?

Section 17

I think this is in respect to my daughters father and ongoing domestic abuse which we fled from.
Is this serious?
Thanks.

Section 17 relates to a child in need .... theres will be a SW involved following a child and family assessment....is your child to be placed on a CIN plan? It is a step down from child protection plan ( section 47)

Section 17 is a child in need plan of support for families led by a social worker. The child is not deemed at risk of immediate harm else it would go to Section 47.
Section 17 is consensual and you can opt out of the process if the children's trust (social care) offer a child in need plan, post assessment

I know the local authority are doing a current assessment so it must be this. They believe my DD is being forced to have contact against her will and its emotionally harming her.

I would try and work with the children's trust x
