Gum abscess no pain?

My crown broke off last week (4 months old) and dentist can't see me for another week.

It's a bit sore but there is an oozing abscess on my gum, my gland is swollen and my ear hurts.

I have got interdental brushes to try and keep things clean.

Dentist can't see me any sooner, I have corsodyl and painkillers, any other hints for trying to keep things ticking over (and get rid of the vile taste)?

Rinsing around your mouth with warm salt water would probably help. It’s what my dentist advised when I had my wisdom teeth out, and that was obviously a wound, so I’m working on the basis that it must do some good.

A week is too long to wait.it sounds your absess is quite bad.you need antibiotics before you see your dentist.try to get prescription for antibiotics(ring 111).rinse your mouth with warm saltwater every time you have eaten something.

coconut oil pulling - great antibacterial. Just do a teaspoon of coconut oil, swill round the mouth / between teeth for 5 or 10 minutes once or twice a day, spit and rinse. Does wonders for this kind of thing!!!

Thank you. I think it doesn't hurt as most of the nerve was drilled out when I had the crown done
