Well I suppose at least the colours match?

I’ve a blue carpet on my landing. The centre of it is currently coated in about 2L of a “spring fresh” (ie pale blue) fabric conditioner.

I cannot think of a point in anyone’s life at which this would be necessary/good/helpful; but it really is just very extra particularly Not. What. I. Need. Right. Now.

Has anyone any genius cleaning tips before I succumb to the soft & fresh smell?

Old towel soak up as much as possible.

Borrow/rent a carpet cleaner

Thank you - should probably have said was straight on it with a towel (indeed towels, 2 litres is a LOT of fabric softener) but apparently my brain was not switched on enough even for that Blush

Carpet cleaner sounds like a good call. At least it’ll smell nice.

I mean, it does smell AMAZING.

Hugely annoyingly, had this happened a couple of weeks ago, I’d’ve had access to carpet cleaner. And, crucially, someone to wield it for me. Suspect my cats would stand a better chance of managing one (& to think as a teenager I was qualified to use an industrial floor polisher probably shouldn’t have been given I was clearly a hazard to self & others, but… ) & if it’s not dried out by the time I’ve saved enough to pay a professional I’ve a whole load of other problems.

Obviously do all feel free to laugh at mental image of me trying to mop it up: the celebrated Blotting Dance; & the infamous Drying Wriggle. (Accident, post & initial clean-up effort all happened between my 3-monthly [NHS] podiatry & dentist appointments; former in morning & latter in afternoon. There is now quite a real risk of an accidental nap situation happening right on top of/in the middle of/[in]elegantly sprawled over the sweet-scented Móin Cairpéad Blush )
