Any recommendations of books for a 9 year old interested in Big Bang, how the world was created, what the earth is composed of? She's also been reading myths and legends and is interested in why people believe(d) them and the different versions of creation, why people believer in religion. She's suddenly started asking deep and technical questions and I'm way out of my depth!!

The New Answers book series

Hmmmm, thanks but the reviews of that book are slightly off-putting!

dear God a book by Ken Ham is not the answer... to anything!
He's one of the most famous creationists.

Maybe one of these two:

Sounds like this one might be of interest too

Oh, I think we have that somewhere PammieDooveOrangeJoof. I shall have to get DS to tidy his room!

tobypercy Have you got those already? If you had to choose between Bang! and It started with a Big Bang which would you recommend?

What about A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson? He wrote it for adults, but has also published a kids' version recently.

WheresMyCycle · 30/11/2021 21:15

@Donatella read my mind!

ANameChangeAgain · 30/11/2021 21:17

Get the Prof. Brian Cox books. My science mad ds lapped them up at that age.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 30/11/2021 21:20

The book Sapiens has a graphic novel version which is great, comes in 2 volumes.

NuffSaidSam · 30/11/2021 22:02

I'd also recommend the Bill Bryson one. You might have to read it with her/to her, but it's a great book.and covers all of this.
