Please help me find toy diggers that I can magically make into jewellery and all sorts for DD16!

Our lovely DD’s obsession is diggers. Me and one of her younger siblings are planning on making her some earrings/necklace from teeny tiny toy excavators.
Unfortunately, the smallest ones I can find at the moment are Matchbox car sized ones.

Does anyone know where we can buy such mini vehicles about 1cm long? DD is ASD and has had a proper shitty year. She’s so gorgeous and amazing and we want to make this Christmas extra special for her Smile

I have an old friend who makes tiny models out of polymer clay of all kinds of stuff- have you had a look on Etsy to see if anyone can make something to design for you?

Google JCB buttons

That seemed to bring up some things that might work.

What about looking on websites for model railways?

Creakycroaky · 29/11/2021 19:33

Have you tried looking for a digger charm, like for a charm bracelet? Might be about the right size and should have a little hoop on the top for threading into earrings.

I know the eBay ones aren’t toys but you could make things with them.

Do micro machines still exist?

@SmellyOldOwls they’re lovely!

@SoupDragon excellent shout with the buttons idea. I’ve just added some to my basket Smile

Polymer models are a good idea too! @VaguelyInteresting

This is such a fabulous thread!

OP, I hope your DD loves her jewellery Smile

You could try “Tonka Tinys”. They have a range of metal or plastic on Amazon. Good luck. Hope you find something your DD loves
