I'm definitely going to catch this aren't I?

My DSis came to visit and came down with Norovirus overnight (thanks), my DD has since come down with it last night and has spent all day vomiting and going to the toilet. I got into bed with her for a cuddle about half an hour before she said she felt sick and we share a bathroom although I've been bleaching it and washing hands a lot. DH is at work but says his stomach is churning.

I'm pretty much doomed aren't I? Just waiting for the inevitable 🤮

Probably! Assuming you will be out of action for a couple of days, try to get as many things organised in advance and good luck!

Not necessarily. My whole family got it a few years ago. Kids were literally vomiting in my face. I didn't get it.

QueenLagertha · 29/11/2021 15:47

Not necessarily. DS had it a few weeks ago. Vomited all over his dad. We both cleaned up the vomit as it was everywhere. Slept beside me later that night breathing in my face. Neither of us caught it.

That fills me with hope! Although I've been feeling a bit ropey today but hoping that might be because I hardly slept last night due to DD throwing up all night 😬

A significant percentage of people are naturally immune to it so you might get away with it. I've never had it so assume I'm immune. Fingers crossed for you.

dementedma · 29/11/2021 15:59

DH started with it on Friday. DS joined in Sunday afternoon and then DD during Sunday night. Carnage ! However I'm still standing and off to Pilates shortly, leaving the 3 of them in bed. Amazed I havent got it yet

MelonTits · 29/11/2021 16:00

Fingers crossed for you - I have been feeling a bit ropey yesterday and today after scrubbing vomit out of DD’s bedroom carpet a few days ago, but no actual symptoms. Unlike last time when the household all fell one after the other.

LER83 · 29/11/2021 16:37

My children have vomited on me many, many times (for some unknown reason I always decide its a good idea to give them a cuddle at the precise moment they decide to be sick!), and I have never caught whatever they have had.

IncessantNameChanger · 29/11/2021 16:42

Yes it's highlylikely but not certain. Caught noro babysitting once. The baby stuck its hands in my mouth. I feel queasy now just saying that!

Wash your hands religiously before putting them anywhere near food foods or your face.

When we get noro I put towels around the kids beds and if we are all sick, then things go bad really fast.

Poor you Sad

My DD has been vomiting all day. Both myself and DH are feeling a bit sick, but we haven't been sick so far.

Literally the same as us - sending noro busting vibes your way!

My (then) 3 year old and DH both had norovirus a few years back. DC threw up on me - was lying with head on my chest and threw up all over me in that position, so it splashed into my face, was all over me.

I didn’t get it.

Have hope!!

ShortColdandGrey · 02/12/2021 13:34

Sad to say that I got it and have been sick the passed 2 days. Looks like DH is away to getvit as well. Hope you are OK RiderGirl.
