I think I’ve started sleep walking

Currently sleeping separately from DH as he is having a flare up of his IBD. Last night I got ready for bed, put my cosiest pyjamas and fluffy bed socks on and snuggled down to sleep. This morning I’ve woken up with no pyjama top on and my socks are missing. I’ve come downstairs and pyjama top is hanging on key hook, one fluffy sock is in the kitchen and the other on the coffee table in the lounge. Not only that but I’ve left the lounge door wide open so it’s freezing in there 😞

That sounds very strange! Have you done it before at all?

ComtesseDeSpair · 29/11/2021 12:54

Are you currently particularly stressed or worried about something? I know that when I’m stressed I do things in my sleep / in “brown out” mode. A couple of weeks ago my manager asked if everything was alright because she’d noticed I’d been sending emails between 2 and 3am: I had absolutely no recollection of waking up, logging into my laptop and working away for over an hour - but I obviously did (reasonably coherently, too!)

Tomeeornottomee · 29/11/2021 14:26

@hoollywugger not since I was little.. like 5... I’m nearly 50 now
@ComtesseDeSpair yes. A lot. But it’s not a new thing. Between DH & the kids I’ve been under more stress than this before, so I’m a bit 🙄 at why last night in particular. I’m mostly peed off for leaving the lounge door open 😂 also the stripping off? Wtf is that about? Thank god I didn’t wander out into the street with my Christmas baubles out

That sounds scary! I lived with a sleepwalker at uni we had to hide the keys to the front door each night.

Wendyer · 29/11/2021 14:57

Maybe you were hot so that’s why you stripped off and left lounge door open? I don’t know what’s triggered your sleep walking though.

I’ve never done it (to my knowledge) until a few weeks ago when I woke to discover I’d cut my hair in my sleep!

Tomeeornottomee · 29/11/2021 22:35

OMG @Wendyer I’m not laughing. honest. 😂😂 how bad was the cut? I am really tired a lot earlier than usual tonight. I just hope I stay clothed tonight 😱😂

@Tomeeornottomee thankfully it seemed to have just been a bit of my fringe which I managed to disguise. But imagine what sort of havoc I could create if I do it again 😮 .

Sleep tight :)

Well I woke up fully clothed this morning with no signs of nocturnal wanderings. DH said he heard me shouting out in the night but when he stuck his head round the door I was fast asleep... but sleep shouting is not a new thing. I’ve always done this.

I hung a bell on the bedroom door and before I went to sleep I told myself I'd wake up if I heard the bell ringing.
