Hi there,

I’m new on here but looking for some advice before I contact my HR department.
I work for the NHS and have recently found out I am pregnant. Going by my calculations and what is online it looks like i am 12 days out for receiving OMP😔 I am really gutted about this. I will have worked for the NHS 14month gong by my expected due date but I didn’t realise the year was 11 weeks before expected due date to get OMP. I thought I just had to be there for a year by the time of birth.

I know this probably doesn’t make sense but I’m hoping there is someone out there that’s maybe experienced what I am? It’s really taking the shine off of what is meant to be the happiest time in my life.

Many thanks

K x

I am a payroll administrator for the NHS and this is SO common of people just missing out.
It really sucks for you, sorry.
A lot of people don’t realise their companies OMP policy until they are actually pregnant.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Yeah it’s really really disappointing😔
If I had missed it by weeks then I would totally understand but 12 days is just so gut wrenching. But suppose there is nothing I can do about it. X
