How often do your teens have full days at home on screens?

Just wondering if we're getting this right with DS 13. He's increasingly wanting to just chill out at the weekends. He usually has one day where he'll see friends (town, biking, cinema, park etc.) If he's got no plans he comes with me to do a big dog walk while DH is working. The other day is usually spent on screens (TV or xbox) and doing homework although he gets very little. Today he's been on his xbox all day with a break to help DH tidy up the garden and we had lunch together.

We used to fill all our free time as he's an only child so we kept busy with lots of play dates/visiting family/days out but he just doesn't want to do that kind of thing anymore. (We do still visit family of course). I must admit I'm really enjoying the time at home to just relax, catch up on housework, read, paint.

Does this sound about right for this age or should I be encouraging him to get out more?

I think you're doing well if that's how much he is on screens tbh! Seems moderate to me.

Thankyou, he does go on after school during the week too but that doesn't bother me after a busy day its just the full days infront of the goggle box that niggle me a bit.

I think its all about balance. The odd day on screens is fine. If it got to be all day every day that isn't healthy.
