Try putting something hot (wheat bag or hot water bottle) or cold (ice pack) on your head. I found cold things worked well for me but some people prefer something warm.

Thank you so much, I've never known a headache to be so unrelenting! I feel like I went from complaining about nausea to complaining about my head when I should be so joyous! Oh what a wonderful time !

Can you use olbas oil in Pregnancy? If you can I've always found rubbing that on my temples and laying in a dark room helps loads. Just be careful if the pains around the eye area. I made that mistake and spent most of the night with a streaming stinging eye too. If not a cold wet flannel placed over your head works wonders too.

You can take paracetamol safely in pregnancy. I suffered with headaches a lot and this was the only thing that helped (as well as a nap).

My sympathies, I had terrible headaches in both my pregnancies, it's really debilitating. They did ease off at about 20 weeks in my case although I appreciate that's a way off for you.

I used:

Paracetamol taken with a can of full fat coke (the caffeine does something to help apparently)

4head applied fairly liberally also the cooling gel patches are nice.

Warm wheat bag around back of the neck

Lie down and nap if/when you can (easier said than done I know!)

If really bad speak to your gp, I was prescribed codeine for occasional use when they were really bad and other things hadn't worked. Also worth getting your BP checked just to be safe (although I was told headaches are generally hormone related rather than BP related before 20 weeks).

Good luck, I hope they ease off soon!

Hi OP I used the cool strips on my forehead and base of my neck which helped greatly. Also stored them in the fridge but not sure if that makes them cooler or not!
