Fun educational apps

DSD and I are learning Spanish using DuoLingo. We're loving it and it's a really nice way for us to end the day when she's here. We try to drop the words we've learnt into conversation which is proving really good for the old memory skills!

She's recently started algebra at school (year 6) and really enjoys it. I liked algebra at school and wondered if anyone could recommend an app for this maybe?

DSS (6) also wants to do something with me. He's good at, and enjoys, more number based games. He also likes to play chess with me (though I have to coach him through the game, he's getting really good at thinking ahead!).

A lot of apps I've looked at turn out to have astronomical subscription fees after a short free trial. I liked the look of CodeKids or KidCodes but it's really expensive after 7 days

Would appreciate any recommendations! 😊
