What Christmas days out do you have planned?

OP posts:
thesockfromtheroof · 27/11/2021 09:46

Victorian Christmas market next weekend. That's it at the mo..!

LucentBlade · 27/11/2021 09:51

My friend is a volunteer at a National trust site and there is a Christmas lights in the house and garden night for volunteers and guests only so I’m going along as his guest. Our road is having a Christmas lights switch on with mince pies and mulled wine in the street.

Beachtrip · 27/11/2021 09:53

Was booked for ice skating at NHM today, but now we're at home with covid instead 😢

Markets, Kew Gardens, general London stuff all booked for next few weeks. Warner brothers tour in mid December when it'll be all Christmassy. Yay.

I will also be making floral displays for the local church.

Hetyanni · 27/11/2021 10:00

Light trail, Leeds Castle, grotto, panto, theatre, ice skating

Babyroobs · 27/11/2021 10:01

None unless it involves open air and minimal mixing with other people..

MaryBoBary · 27/11/2021 10:10

We've booked the pantomime for Christmas Eve. It will be DSs first theatre experience and I'm really looking forward to it!

frenchfancy81 · 27/11/2021 10:17

Winter Wonderland at Center Parcs next weekend, lights trail at Eltham Palace, forest grotto to see F.C., school Christmas play, local Christmas fairs.

Crunchymum · 27/11/2021 10:20

Nothing officially Christmas booked but we have a party next Sat (kids party but the adults will get together too). Sunday 20 of us are going out for lunch, kind of out Xmas "do" (this is several families and kids)

Weekend after we have another party on the Saturday, will have a big family lunch at my dad's on the Sunday and decorate the tree. Then home to do our main tree.

Weekend after I have an adult meal out on the Saturday and we have a planned Christmas walk on the Sunday (it's not a booked thing though) but we wrap up and walk round the local houses with displays and the all go for hot chocolate

Big family dinner at inlaws on 23rd. Christmas dinner at sisters. Boxing day family meet up at inlaws.

Plus all the kids Christmas plays (x3), a theatre trip (nursery but I'm going along as helper) plus a few medical appointments thrown in.

I fully expect Covid to wreck havoc and ruin most of it Grin

TorySteller · 27/11/2021 10:57

We’re off to the light trail at Dunham Massey next week.

Also planning a couple of festive evening food/drinks with friends over the next few weeks!

RampantIvy · 27/11/2021 11:02

Victorian Christmas market next weekend, plus a couple of other Christmas markets.
YWP Winter Illuminations after Christmas. We did this last year and they were brilliant.

WTF475878237NC · 27/11/2021 11:03

Lots of outdoor time entry things here to look forward to like light trails etc. National trust garden market. Carols in the park etc.

lunarlandscape · 27/11/2021 11:06

DC ar enow uni-age so our Christmas outings are:
trip to local NT house that's all decked out like Victorian Christmas (they still love going there. It has a Christmas market, lights, sleigh rides and mulled wine stands so it is fun)
Lights at Kew
Lights at Wisley RHS garden
Night at the opera
Night to see DC's favourite stand up comedian.

gogohm · 27/11/2021 11:08

Taking the kids to the Christmas market on the 23rd, followed by cocktails and dinner, they are all over 18!

mowglika · 27/11/2021 11:11

Which NT house is this @lunarlandscape? Sounds great.

We’ve got couple of pantos booked and also the nutcracker and Xmas illuminated trail and market at Blenheim Palace, will probably do some NT and English Heritage places.

Trip to local nursery to visit Santa’s grotto.

MarmitesMyMate · 27/11/2021 11:24

We've done 2 light switch ons.
Got a light switch on and parade today.
Santa visit and wonderland walk.
Another santa visit at a garden centre
Santa at the local farm
Santa at local theme park.
Soft play with a grotto and fun day.
A small village light switch on locally.
German Market.
A Santa steam train

And hopefully find something for 22nd 23rd and 24th Dec

languagelover96 · 27/11/2021 11:57

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/11/2021 12:19

We had our local light switch on last Thursday. Next weekend off to Cadbury world. Weekend after we are going to see Santa at a local farm. Weekend after to a Christmas market. Light show on December 23rd and panto on Christmas eve, plus a few meals out with friends.

DrunkenKoala · 27/11/2021 13:42

So far I’ve booked Santa’s grotto and ice skating - doing both on one day and a Panto is booked between Christmas and New Year.
We’ve got loose plans to meet friends at Hever castle between Christmas and New Year - need to firm up and get tickets booked.
Lots of National Trust properties are doing Percy the Park Keeper trails - might go there on New Year’s Day.

mowglika · 27/11/2021 13:59

PhoboPhobia · 27/11/2021 14:11

I don’t and small DCs now but DH and I are going to a local Garden attraction that has a light trail on.

Christmas market in our town.

We are planning a dog walk and winter picnic with some family at a local beauty spot

Not really a day out as such but DS (16) and I are going to our nearest city next weekend for a bit of Christmas shopping and lunch. I’m looking forward to that the most Smile

Louise5754 · 27/11/2021 14:13

What have you booked for Christmas so far? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/4393987-what-have-you-booked-for-christmas-so-far

There is a thread here

Hemingwayscats · 27/11/2021 14:24

We’re going to buy our Christmas tree tomorrow at a local farm with reindeer and a beautiful big sleigh for DC to sit on then we’re going to watch the local light switch on (nothing fancy, small town).

Next week taking youngest DC to a festive day at a local art gallery then going to do the Robin Robin trail with all DC at our local RSPB site.
Weekend after I’ve booked a Christmas Day at an adventure playground. Weekend after that it’s Haworth nativity weekend and I also booked a National Trust story time with Santa event.

Christmas Eve we’re going on a Christmas themed woodland walk too.

lunarlandscape · 27/11/2021 15:02

And we just got the last tickets to a carol service DS1 is singing in tomorrow, so we are going to that and taking him out for dinner afterwards. V excited as last year's was cancelled.
