Allergy advice

Hi all

I will preface this by saying I'm having an anxiety flare up.

Anyways dd (11) ate a Brazil nut earlier and said it felt spicy and then that her tongue and throat were tingly/ itchy.

Have given her cetirizine which we have in the house as she has hayfever.

She had that 20 mins ago and says she's still got a slightly itchy throat. She's coughed / sneezed a couple of times but she's also eaten some naan bread and is fine in herself.

I'm panicking (and not showing it) - can anyone reassure me? Dh thinks I'm being ridiculous because, tbf, I do go from one panic to another.

We are right in the middle of storm Arwen so I'd rather not go out unless absolutely necessary plus our a&e is vv busy and I'm on crutches

I get that with some raw nuts. I have allergies too, not so bad with nuts but I still get the reaction to your daughter describing, but throat swellings with other foods

From experience I'd say if it was going to be very serious the reaction would have happened almost immediately. I'd stick with the cetrizine and if anything worsens call 999 immediately

See if you can get an allergy test for your dd asap

Thanks @PuddingOfTheXmasType I actually just called the pharmacist who basically said what you've just said

Thanks.
