Costco Mince Pies

Used to go to Costco years ago and they had the most amazing mince pies.

Just looked at their online site to see if worth joining again and the range of food seems quite limited? No lovely big Xmas Cakes or those pies?

Has anyone been lately and do they have more in store please?

My nearest one is Edinburgh

Don't know about Christmas cake but I did a big swerve past the mince pies this afternoon. They looked the same as ever (I swerved because if I bought them then I would have to eat them...Blush). North West England branch.

Do you mean the big ones with sponge on top? They are the dog's bollocks, buy a tray every year and end up giving some away so we don't eat them all

We’ve had some too.
Delicious.

They don't show everything on their website, only the stuff that's sold online. There's all sorts of stuff in store that's not on the website.

Yes they have the mince pies in, and they should start doing the ginger muffins soon too!

I was there two days ago and saw them (although not the Edinburgh branch admittedly)

Oh lordy. I'd forgotten about Costco frangipane cake mince pies. Cheers for that. I think Grin.

Ooo

52andblue · 26/11/2021 22:55

Oooh. Thanks everyone. I've not had a membership for 15 years but I still remember the taste of those delicious frangipane sponge topped mince pies! I can feel a new membership coming up :)

They freeze like a dream. Plus you can warm them up in the oven and the sponge turns crusty caramelly (if that makes sense?) Then I top the fucker with crusty clotted cream (also from Costco)

Hmm
You have just changed my life, made me salivate and extremely cross with that one statement.

I agree. They freeze well, and are lovely heated up.

52andblue · 29/11/2021 19:35

Ahhhh. Went today. bought a dozen. They taste as good as 15 yrs ago.
