Need help with Little rhymes for advent calendar

This year DD will be having my old advent calendar (see photo) which was made for my by my aunty in 1982. My mum lovingly filled it with little presents, some of which were too big to fit in the little boxes. On these occasions she would write a little rhyme with a clue, put this in the box and hide the gift somewhere in the house.

All well abd good but... I am crap at writing poetry. So, dear Vipers, can anyone here knock up a couple of rhymes ?
Some hiding places might include my desk drawer, the piano stool, her roller skates bag.

As we race towards our Yule
Excitement builds and carols rule.
To find a gift that’s very cool
Look inside the piano stool

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:05

Is it hidden by the gates?
Is it hidden with the plates?
No, to find the gift today,
Look at where you keep your skates.

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 26/11/2021 12:05

Oh my goodness you see I knew I would get some marvellous stuff here !

Dear reader, now, this clue relates
To the bag that holds your roller skates

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:06

To find your gift today you’d better
Find the place where mum writes letters.
Look inside the sliding drawers
To find the advent gift that’s yours

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 26/11/2021 12:07

Definitely going to have to get a novelty ice cube tray for the cool gift 😆

Lol! Any more hiding places you need rhymes for?

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 26/11/2021 12:11

Gosh...
in her bridle bag (horse equipment)
In the box of lego
In daddy's box of tools
Hidden in the bookcase
In the tub of hairdryer/curling tongs/straightener

To find your advent gift today
You’ll have to search just where I say
The place where you should go an look
Is where we store our favourite books

TellingBone · 26/11/2021 12:14

Bookcase:

Search around, engage your wits
Where your bedtime story sits

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:15

At Christmas when the choir sings
Of partridges and five gold rings
Look in the place where the three kings
Stored all their fancy horsey things

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:17

At Christmas, time of love and laughter
Of crisp cold walks and mince pies after
Today your gift - could it be socks?
Is found in daddy’s big tool box

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:20

Today your gift is - you guess where
Where straight gets curly with great care
It’s in your primping pampering lair
Amongst the things that style your hair

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:21

To find today’s surprise you’ll be
Looking in places seldom seen
Where kiddies like to get their kicks
Assembling things from tiny bricks

SmallGreenStripes · 26/11/2021 12:24

Today begins another year
Of keeping up traditions dear
To keep you on your festive toes
Some gifts are hidden - where? Who knows!
To find them you must follow clues
Written mostly to amuse
For joy and laughter- they’re the goal
To capture in your festive soul
So know that you are loved so dear
Not just in Advent, but all year.

@SmallGreenStripes

Advent clue 1 went down a treat. Dd was thrilled with her treasure hunt.
Is there any possibility you could do one for Christmas Eve, the last one. It will be a little basket of goodies which I will hide amongst my shoes

Oooh I am so pleased she liked it!

It’s the last riddle for this year,
And Christmas Day will soon be here
To find this pile of festive loot
Search where you will find shoes and boots
A little basket full of treats
Is hidden where you clothe your feet

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 01/12/2021 22:19

I don't know how you do it ! You're a genius, Thankyou so much xxx

devuskums · 01/12/2021 23:10

You'll be clever like a fox
When you find this special box
The bricks you use to build are here
And something new in there my dear!
