Hello, I am feeling quite sad at the moment as I have realised I need to leave my husband.
I have had legal advice re splitting assets etc and know I could stay in the house for quite some time as youngest child is disabled but feel fairer if we sell and split so we can both have properties.
My worry is I am currently working part time and studying towards a profession. I won't be earning a full time salary till at least end 2023 if not early 2024.
My question is, if we sell our house, could he buy two properties in his name and transfer one to me so I pay the mortgage? Worried as I won't be able to get a mortgage on own till I earn more.
Just to mention that our house was bought from the sale of a flat I owned but he has been paying the mortgage for 10 years so the house is jointly owned. I only mention it as I know sometimes it looks like the wife is out to take everything but that is not the case. I have two young children and I just want to make it as smooth a transition and as amicable as possible in the circumstances.
