Help with a verse in a "thinking of you card"

A friend who lives in another country has just found out that her mam is in her last days. I'm sending a little hamper of things but I'm stuck at what to put in the card!

They have a difficult relationship and haven't always got along in the best way. Any ideas please?

Try not to overthink it and just say what you feel. IME the harder you try to get the ‘perfect’ wording, the more stilted and artificial it ends up being.

Something simple like “I’m so sorry you’re going through this / to hear the news, thinking of you and sending you love” will probably mean a lot to her.
