Pain when passing urine

Had this a while on and off about two months. I would imagine it’s not an infection due to it being on and off. Any other suggestions please?

Have you had your urine tested just incase ? Can't really rule out infection otherwise

You can get urine dipsticks that the doctors use, on Amazon. Only a couple of quid.

I've had this problem for about two years but it comes and goes. I have had urine tests and they are negative. I really should go back to the GP . I have come to the conclusion I just have a sensitive bladder. Certain drinks seem to make it worse, especially alcohol although I think some of it must be psychological as the first sip of wine I take and my bladder starts stinging. Some days I dont have any pain , others it's all day. I tried drinking lots of water but that actually seems to make it worse.

I did have Covid late July but recovered fairly quickly didn’t think that could be the cause to be honest
