Best place to have a short city break..?

So I'm looking for a nice place to go for a short city break just after Christmas. It's very rate for me, but our company have given us 10 days off over Christmas which is so exciting!!! So I'm hoping to be able to find somewhere for DP and I to head off to for 2/3 nights.

We are open to flying if not UK based. Has anybody got any recommendations, or websites etc to look on?

Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon all great for a few days and all doing pretty well on the C front.
Rome, Florence, Venice.
Be nice to go somewhere wintry- Copenhagen, Bergen, Oslo.

I haven't ever been for a short break before so just hoping to go somewhere that's got plenty to do, as we will probably want to pack in a few sight seeing things whilst away. I will look into somewhere wintery / Christmas (although the big day will have been and gone by then!!) as that sounds lovely

Hmm difficult with covid. I am not sure which countries are dealing best with it currently and have the most open but maybe Spain and Portugal, so Valencia or Lisbon?

Copenhagen is an amazing city - not sure how Denmark is doing with covid but it was very good last time I looked.

In the UK I'd recommend Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff, Liverpool and York. Rye is also nice.

We had a fabulous four days in Lisbon in October. Would thoroughly recommend.
We’re meant to go to Marrakech next month but flights have been cancelled as the Moroccan government has banned direct flights from the UK.
