Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me when the double Christmas payment is made for those in receipt of Carers Allowance in Scotland?

I was asked by a lady I help through work but google isn’t helping me. Her usual payment dates should be 29th of Nov and 27th of Dec.

Thanks in advance.

Can't help with the dates, sorry but you get a double payment?
I wish they did that in England!

Apparently it was passed through the Scottish parliament, google did confirm that.
I really hope she is correct, they are a lovely family and the extra would go a long way at Christmas Smile

It doesn't look like the exact date is available, if it was it would be on the website, but it just says December:

Usually about 2nd week in Dec - end of the week.
£460 I think this time. £10 Christmas bonus will be in December Carers allowance too.
Scotland do it to bring Carers Allowance in line with other benefits

Just to confirm that normally it's £230 In June and December on top of your usual payment but this Dec will be £460 on top of normal payment

That’s lovely (well shame is so low but better than lousy £10 Xmas bonus not increased since 1976!)

Thank you ladies, this will make her families Christmas. I’m saddened to learn the payment isn’t nationwide, it seems most unfair.
