My oven is only 5 bloody months old and I've been forgetful with cleaning it and now I think it's fucked. I've tried scrubbing this and nothing is working! How do I get it like new?

You can get a scraper that is basically a blade. Otherwise you could buy an oven cleaner where you stick the racks in a bag with the liquid and stick that in instead.

Just get an oven pride kit. It comes with a chemical cleaner and plastic bags. You soak overnight in the bags and it’s good as new.

You can buy them in most places like Wilko, Savers, The Range, supermarkets etc

Soak a dishwasher tablet in it overnight.

Try buying some 'Ovenbrite'. it's a gel which you brush on and leave for up to four hours - works a treat. Did my oven at the weekend after months and months of ignoring it and most of it came off.
You can re-apply it if it doesn't all get removed. highly recommended.

Get dishwasher powder (or mash up a bunch of tablets) and mix to a thick paste with hot water and spread across the brown bit. Leave that to work it's magic, then scrape off as per pp. The oven cleaner from Lakeland is also excellent but watch out - it is the stuff people use in acid attacks and is very strong. My partner gave himself a nasty chemical burn with it. The oven was lovely and clean but not quite worth it.

Wet cloth left on it overnight will soften it and make it easy to wash off.

Oven pride. Put it in the bag with the chemicals, leave overnight, it will be as good as new!

I did the dishwasher tablet paste, left it to soak for an hour or two and then did what I read on google and chiselled it with a 2p coin. I can't feel either arm anymore and both my hands are cramped but I would call that a success Grin

It's so sad how happy it's made me. I just keep staring at its beauty like it isn't an oven tray. Life comes at you quick doesn't it Grin

Looks fabulous!

supremelybaffled · 24/11/2021 20:52

I have spent nearly an hour this evening cleaning the glass on the inside of my oven door. Cleaning is not my favourite occupation.

MrsPerfect12 · 24/11/2021 21:02

Ha ha fabulous! Well done. I can feel your pride! God we're getting old 🙈

linerforlife · 24/11/2021 21:04

Wow OP great work Grin

FreeBritnee · 24/11/2021 21:11

Chiselled it with a 2p? Sounds interesting.
