Why does Ryanair keep declining my card

I'm going stir crazy trying to book a flight on Ryanair app but one card has been declined (plenty of money in that account) told number wrong on another card (not) and when I try to pay with apple pay it comes out with some nonsense about not being connected to the right card.

I had this trouble a few months ago but can't remember how I sorted it.
I've tried it several times today and getting no where!! 😡
Any wise ideas before I hit the booze??

What happens if you book on the website?

drivinmecrazy · 24/11/2021 15:39

I'm going to try that next but it's such a pain cos the app has all my details.
I've decided to have a large vodka then prep dinner before I try again.
Honestly, I fly with them numerous times a year and every bloody time it stresses me out. I feel my blood pressure rising and a sense of doom!!

My card provider is increasingly asking me to authorise transactions I make on apps (Trainline, for example), whereas this is isn't required on the Trainline website. Has your provider brought in something similar?

Are you using auto fill? Lots have stopped allowing that way and numbers have to be typed in?

drivinmecrazy · 24/11/2021 15:50

All helpful suggestions but unfortunately neither apply in this case.
Website is also doing the same.
DD2 just came in from school and helpfully reminded me this happened in October too but when I asked her how we sorted it she just shrugged her shoulders, raided the fridge and disappeared upstairs 😂

Why not call the bank? Am l missing something here? They are the card provider after all.

reesewithoutaspoon · 24/11/2021 15:53

Had this happen a few times. its usually the bank putting a stop on it, which they lift when you phone in. I just assumed it was some random anti fraud checks.

drivinmecrazy · 24/11/2021 15:54

I'll leave that tilll DH comes home in half an hour. I'm mentally frazzled now!!

If it is fraud checks it's bloody ludicrous because it's always the same flights I do every two months.
I blame my mother for living in another country 😡
