Carers allowance

Does anyone know how long it's taking for carers allowance claims to be looked at?
I'm disabled and my mum has claimed carers for me. We're just wondering how long it will take for the claim to go through roughly.

I made a claim 6 weeks ago and called for an update on Monday. I was told my claim had been registered and was in the queue to be looked at which can take up to 12 weeks.

They are taking a long time to be awarded currently. Normally 6 weeks but longer at the moment. Is your mum under state pension age?

Thank you. Hopefully not too much longer but it's only been 3 weeks since the claim was made. I guess its just a wait and see.
