Kicked out of google meet?

So my DS was part of a special assemble this week. We were reminded about it last week & have had several reminders this week. He has special needs & we were told he didn’t know about it & they would have a special guest so we’ve kept it all hush hush. I got sent the link today & set my alarm also so I didn’t miss it. Clicked on join it rang for quite a while then stopped & a message popped up saying call declined, tried again same thing & then on the third time a message popped up saying the code had been changed. I rang the school who took my email & said they would send another link . It came through & same happened again the call got declined & then the code was changed. The thing I want to ask was does this mean we were actually kicked out by someone? Or is it a tech thing? We were late but only by 1 minute & that was because we had to wait for the app to download.

Very odd, sounds like someone was determined to keep you out!

What was ringing?
It sounds like some sort of tech issue, but a Meet link just takes you to the waiting room (if the administrator has set one up) and then they admit you when they see your name, or you enter straightaway. To change the code, the administrator of the Meet needs to faff around and resend a link with a new code.

If the school has a GSuite account, then the only people who can get into the Meet need to enter through an email registered onto the Gsuite platform- ie at our school, if parents are coming to an online meeting, they have to come via their kid's email address which is attached to the school iyswim. Could it be something like that?
