This post covers a few thoughts of mine - i welcome all honest responses.
I had the NT scan and the fluid behind babies neck was measured at 4.3mm and I was dated at 13+2. I had my bloods done and was given 1in61 chance of downs and 1in10,000 for edwards and patuas.
My midwife said my hormone levels were normal, and the sonographer said that structually baby looks fine.. and after a 2nd measurement, the fluid measured at 4.0mm - does the fluid go down? I'm so confused by the results.
I'm a stresser, and half of me wishes i never opted for the screening. I've advised people to limit their researching, and heres me ..researching away.

Does anyone know of any other markers that are present during 1st trimester ultrasounds. I actually feel like a pain bothering my midwife with questions - i know it's their job, but i feel like they'll look at me like 'oh just another FTM stressing'

(i am currently awaiting my NIPT results & i am 14+1)

Hi
I have been searching for something similar to my situation and came across your post.
I am awaiting my CVS results after a 1 in 4 and my NT had also decreased on the CVS scan.
How did you get on?
Xx

Sorry you are going through this. I paid for the NIPT at 11weeks with my 1st pregnancy (age 38) and the NT was 6.4mm. The NIPT said patau, so they called me in for a more detailed scan. Sorry if TMI, but there were obvious issues on the U/S- even at at only 11 weeks. A hernia around the umbilical cord, shadowing in the brain and a cleft face (not just a cleft lip) to name just a few issues. We chose TFMR and the autopsy confirmed patau.

Did they give any reason for the higher than average NT reading? Was the 2nd reading done at the same as the 1st and with the same equipment? Nasal bone length (or absence of one altogether) is another thing that can be seen on a scan at that age. I don't know if its routinely checked though.

I've only told you my story, so you can see that the NT was larger and there were very obviously scan abnormalities. The fact your scan looked normal, is great. Did they say when the NIPT would come back? Feel free to ask me any questions. You might find support and advice from ARC also.

Thank you for sharing, this must of been absolutely heartbreaking for you.
We opted to skip the nipt test due to the 1 in 4, we thought we'd get the certainty from the CVS.
I am 38 this month and my hcg was 3.45 and papp a 0.75 which increased my risk the consultant said.
It's been a 2 week he'll but I just had the call and we have the all clear. I'm not sure I'll relax fully till after the 20 week scan but I do feel relieved.
I hope you manage to heal and have a wonderful 2022
X
