Panicking I have breast cancer

I found a lump and my gp has referred me to the breast clinic on the 2 week referral pathway. It’s small - pea sized and solid. Gp‘s reaction was “yes, that’s a definite lump”. He was absolutely lovely but also looked worried and said he wished he could give reassurance but until we have test results he can’t know. (Which my sensible brain understands but my spiralling brain has basically decided it’s stage 4). For context, a close relative was diagnosed at 42 and died of it, I’m 39. I’ve not had a diagnosis and I’m usually blasé about things, thinking the best but today I’m convinced my life is about to be turned upside down.

Not really asking a question, just getting it off my chest rather than burdening friends but being a drama Queen.

Sorry to hear this - hope it turns out to be something simple like a cyst. Hang on in there.

I’ve golf balls in each boob and they’re cysts.. or fibrocystic breast disease.. I have mammograms every year and have to take evening primrose oil .. I understand the head re-recorded ours going through. Could you ring the clinic and ask if they have a chance could you pop over?
