If you are a non smoker, don't have high BMI and your blood pressure is normal then you can take the combined pill until age 50.

I had high bmi so I took the mini pill for years and then had the mirena coil

I did, though had a pregnancy and tried the copper coil in between. It was absolutely fine. I liked Yasmin and got on well with it (for probably 12-15 years) and the mini pill has been the same. No issues, no symptoms, other than I notice ovulation (same as not on the pill) which is fine, but I'm just more aware of it. Obviously, you don't ovulate on the combined pill. I'm 42.

Some mini pills can stop ovulation too especially desogestrel based ones

Do you have any of the other risk factors?

www.guidelinesinpractice.co.uk/womens-health/contraception-for-women-aged-over-40-what-when-and-for-how-long/453901.article gives info on different contraceptive choices

So not Yasmin but I came off combined pill and went onto progesterone only (Cerezette) almost 4 years ago. I was very reluctant to change but actually have found Cerezette better as I don't bleed at all anymore. No issues with skin and actually I think looking back that the combined pill had perhaps impacted my mental health for a long time as I feel mentally much better now

I was on Yasmin partially for skin. Moved on to Cerezette, I got those hormonal jawline spots with it. On Noriday now and have no problems. I get very light bleeding, a day or two of a liner is enough.

No other risk factors
