Jumpers with the logo 1970 should only be worn by people born in 1970.

and what other sartorial rules need to be observed?

Oh my god, why are there so many of them around all of a sudden?!

And where are they from?! Why 1970?!

Carboncheque · 23/11/2021 22:57

Bella Freud

PriamFarrl · 23/11/2021 22:58

Wtf?
I was 9 in 1970, I don't remember it being anything special.Confused

whereisthekey · 23/11/2021 23:00

they're £££ for a pretty basic jumper.

Minorissue · 23/11/2021 23:00

A brand…charging £409 for a jumper

Carboncheque · 23/11/2021 23:04

Designer, daughter of Lucien Freud, great granddaughter of Sigmund Freud.

@Carboncheque

Designer, daughter of Lucien Freud, great granddaughter of Sigmund Freud.
So got where she is entirely through her own merit then.
ThatWasThat · 23/11/2021 23:09

Bella Freud was born in 1961 and shouldn't wear the jumper either.

PriamFarrl · 23/11/2021 23:11

Well I’ve just looked them up.
They look like those ‘we print anything you want on a jumper/T-shirt/tea towel’ jobs.
I wish I could do that and charge the earth.

FrangipaniBlue · 23/11/2021 23:13

Band t-shirts - should only be worn if you've actually been to see said band perform live!

*gavel

ThatWasThat · 23/11/2021 23:15

@PriamFarrl me too. Tis weird. And yet Bella F probably has other (more expensive) items at her disposal and wouldn't be seen dead in one of the 1970 logo ones.

@FrangipaniBlue tis the law

I have the Bella Freud jumper. And candle. But I was born in 1970.

Jo Whiley wears one. I believe she’s not entitled.

AliceAldridge · 23/11/2021 23:16

I don't understand this jumper or its price tag.

PoppyMonth · 23/11/2021 23:19

I don’t understand it either. But some friends bought it for me for my 50th so I have to wear it.

ThatWasThat · 23/11/2021 23:20

@PoppyMonth don't worry, you're allowed

It's the other pretenders we need to worry about. We need rules!

OP posts:
AliceAldridge · 23/11/2021 23:22

I do understand you wearing it @PoppyMonth Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 23/11/2021 23:35

I found a description, presumably a quote from BF
''While messing around on my photocopier I spied the date 1970 printed in the corner of a page of the book I was leafing through. I kept blowing it up, then cut it out and pinned it onto my black jumper. It had a rough charm that made me think of the early New York punk scene in the 70's, and Patti Smith.''

So it's just random shit really.

PoppyMonth · 24/11/2021 13:02

It is random shit and it's about as cool as wearing a Choose Life or Frankie Says Relax tshirt in the 80s.

And I have the flipping jumper!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/11/2021 13:04

I thought people,were advertising their DOB. No idea it was an expensive jumper.

IggyIggyIggy · 24/11/2021 14:02

@PoppyMonth

I don’t understand it either. But some friends bought it for me for my 50th so I have to wear it.
This made me laugh so much
catfunk · 24/11/2021 14:28

They are sooooo trendy dahling and imply that you're liberal, creative, cool.

Saw a BBC news presenter wearing one recently and thought Noel fielding and Sali Hughes must be annoyed.

catfunk · 24/11/2021 14:28

Also it looks dreadful on anyone with an ample bosom
