Hi all, first post and would love your help from you very wise Mumsnetters.

I have a job interview and one of the key things is diversity & inclusion. It's my first HR role. I have been told that one of the questions will be:

What different perspectives could you bring to the role?

I have no idea how to go about answering this! For context, I've always worked with global organisations, worked with colleagues across 30 countries and have also lived and studied abroad. So I feel like I should have a good answer!

Can anyone offer any ideas please? xxx

is the interview with a global organisation, or a small one which maybe hasn't done much EDI yet? If a small one then you could talk about some of the ways the bigger companies approach it which you thought were good.

I would guess this question isn't about your own perspective but how you uncover, invite, amplify and celebrate perspectives that others hold using strategies.

Maybe talk about understanding what it means to work in diverse work places ?

Are there any examples from the other countries you were in where they embrace diversity well in the work place (for example where hours were changed for those fasting for Ramadan)

Also what didn't work well but you would like to change : for example no prayer rooms or accessibility for different abled people
