If you work from home, what setting do you have on your thermostat?

I find that sitting still, I feel chilly if the temperature is under 19.5 - 20⁰C. As the room I work in is north facing, this means having my heating on for several hours a day at the moment. What's your preferred working temperature?

I don't. At the moment I use a heated blanket when I get chilly

DanceAllDay · 23/11/2021 19:54

I’m like you - could t have it cooler than that. Too cold and I feel like I need to snuggle into a blanket for a few hours.

dustandfluf · 23/11/2021 19:55

I'm the same as you. I try not to pit the heating on if it's over 18 though. Invest in some good thermals and a very chunky cardy

20 here too OP. But not until 3pm. I tolerate the cold until then. Layer up. Cups of tea.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 23/11/2021 19:55

15 degrees and then a thick cardi, scarf and blanket on me. No way I can I afford to heat the whole house for the sake of me in 1 room!

Thermostat goes up when schools finished.

ThatsAllFolks · 23/11/2021 19:56

Oodie and thermal socks til I notice the dog shivering

unluckyinlife · 23/11/2021 20:04

18c

middleager · 23/11/2021 20:05

Don't put the heating on of a day. We are both wfh but too expensive. We wear Oodies snd blankets.
The heating is on between 5 and 8 though at 19/20

DGFB · 23/11/2021 20:06

We have it up to 22 until the kids go to school then turn it off. It stays warm for a bit, gets colder at noon and then we just tough it out til 4pm when it comes back on for the rest of the evening. It can drop to 17 during that time which I find very cold but we wear layers.. and I’m always thinking it’s not long til it comes back on!

JazzHandsYeah · 23/11/2021 20:07

I put it on in the morning at 7, off around 9. Usually pop it in for another hour at 3sh, then off til we feel cold, usually around 6pm

JazzHandsYeah · 23/11/2021 20:08

Oh temp when it is on, is 22

SmallProvincial · 23/11/2021 20:10

7am to 10pm it is on at 21'
10pm to 7am is set to 16'

Gladioli23 · 23/11/2021 20:11

Temp is set to 14 in the day like it was when I was out at work and I try not to touch it. But e.g. today the thermostat was down to 16.5 by lunch time and I was just freezing so I have put it on.

boatyardblues · 23/11/2021 20:17

If you are just in one room can’t you get a small fan or panel heater to keep things comfortable during the day?

WomblingKnobhead · 23/11/2021 20:22

I'm wearing a merino base layer, a full wool aran jumper, a body warmer and have fingerless mitts and a blanket on my lap. Heating off 🤣

doadeer · 23/11/2021 20:24

22/23. It never drops lower than 20. I live in a warm appartment. Heating is on for about 1.5 hours a day total.

ThePoisonousMushroom · 23/11/2021 20:25

Heating on all day at 19 degrees.

Hungry675tf · 23/11/2021 20:28

Heating on between 7-9am to 19 then off until 3pm. Lots of blankets and fleeces and an electric oil filled radiator next to me if I'm freezing!

Darkpheonix · 23/11/2021 20:29

I use my heating the same as I do when in the office.

On first thing for an hour or so.

Then, if it needs it about 4pm, til it's warm usually an hour or 2.

During the day I just wear warmer clothes. Sometimes does mean I spend the putting on and taking off layers.

Libertaire · 23/11/2021 20:31

The heating is on from 7-9 am, set at 21, then I don’t have it on during the day. If I’m cold I will put on an extra layer & have a hot mug of tea.

Scarby9 · 23/11/2021 20:32

17 or 17.5 if the heating is on.
But I have a blanket and a hot water battle as well as layers of clothing, thick wool socks and fluffy boots. A thick woollen jacket I slip off for important Zoom calls.

ABitOfAShitShow · 23/11/2021 20:34

It would be 22 in this dwelling IDEALLY. In reality it’s on and off and up and down because god knows where the thermostat thermometer is but IT’S NEVER EVEN BLOODY CLOSE.

Scarby9 · 23/11/2021 20:34

Hot water BOTTLE

flowerarrangement · 23/11/2021 20:36

I've got hive (pays for itself in Yr1 generally so worth the cost) and have installed a Hive TRV in my home office so I can just set the temperature in that room and switch the heating on in there in isolation.

I couldn't work in a cold room, it would set my asthma off. Before Hive I had a dinky oil filled radiator.

MintyGreenDream · 23/11/2021 20:36

We have a log burner so use that in the evening. If it's chilly in the morning I put the heating on to 22 for an hour
