Help, any recommendations for nice place to eat and catch up around Barbican area (not specific to going to Barbican just this is nearest landmark) - 20m walk from here max. Anything that isn't stodgy! For tomorrow night.

TIA.

There’s a Cote brasserie right by the Barbican cinema. It’s not terribly inspiring, but fine. Or there’s a lovely sushi restaurant called Pham Sushi (I think!) next to the Guildhall School of Music. That was really super when I went.

There is a Cote next to the Barbican Cinema? Or Iskele in Whitecross street.

Used to be some nice places in Smithfield too, but years since I’ve been there! Maybe worth a look too though.

I assuming 20m means twenty mins not twenty metres Grin

In which case there's quite a lot going on around Smithfield market. Club Gascon is a fantastic French place for example, although it's expensive.

The Jugged Hare pub does excellent food.

Also St Johns on the edge of Smithfield’s too. A little further over towards Holborn is the Bleeding Heart which always used to be good but not been in ages.

Hawksmoor or The Don

Goodmans

I struggled earlier this year, none of the restaurants opened on weekends!

The Fish Central on Central St, off Old Street is very good and reasonably priced.
Old Street itself and Whitecross St has range of places to choose from.

Barca in Whitecross Street does lovely Italian food

Barraca

Thanks for these. Budget is £10-£15 for mains. Might be asking for moon on a stick in London Grin.
