Hey.
Firstly I would appreciate any answer as I am just looking for people's knowledge and maybe a hand to hold...
For the last 2months I have been experiencing pain in my upper abdomen and stools coated in orange mucus ( tmi I'm sorry)
I have sent a sample off to the doctor but waiting on results and blood work can't be done till 9th December.
Lqstnight to boost my HA even more I saw blood also in this mucus on my stools.
Has anyone been through this? Experienced this? Or know what it could be?
Worrying myself sick and with Christmas coming I feel I should be the happy go lucky mummy I usually am. But my mind is always elsewhere.
Thanks in advance for any replies
Emma xx

There was a really long thread a few weeks ago where the OP had the same symptoms and was desperately worried that she had cancer. I'll see if I can find it for you as she had lots of good advice on there.

It really could be any number of things. I've got crohns disease and often get those symptoms but far more severly. Unfortunately these things do take time to get diagnosed. Let me find that old post for you to read.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry I genuinely wasn't trying to insinuate that this was health anxiety by linking that thread. I'd actually forgotten about that being part of the thread, I directed you to it for all the reassuring replies the OP had and her final test results. Your symptoms are real and you're doing the right thing by getting checked out but there are lots of things that could be the cause other than cancer so try not to panic.

Did you find an answer I get this sometimes with poop covered in Orange mucus apparently ibuprofen causes inflammation in the intestines which I just found out today so I may stop and see if it goes!

Just completed a second FIT test and still all tests say I am fine. Still experience pain in upper left abdomen and around my upper left back. Awaiting pancreas function test and a fibroscan which is to check out my liver aparently. Sorry I don't have the answers for you but I hope u get sorted soon!

Has a colonoscopy not been suggested yet? It is certainly very reassuring that you have had upper endoscopy and it is all clear. I am much older at 65 but August last year I had to go to a large city hospital for endoscopic treatment if a large polyp embedded in the wall of my small bowel. This had been found at my local hospital. If they had left it then it could have turned cancerous. I am still receiving treatment for it.
Anyway perhaps you could have polyps in your colon or it could just be bleeding piles!
I am also a very anxious person with mental health issues. States of anxiety can bring about uncomfortable symptoms in our gut. Good luck. Sure there will be a perfectly innocent explanation.

Islasmummy123 · 31/10/2022 12:23

Yes well I am really not sure about any bleeding at all with both FIT tests ( 1 year apart) coming back with no blood traced in my stools. With where my pain is the doctors are pointing more towards my pancreas spleen stomach area from what I can gather not so much my colon as no inflammation in my colon either. I suffer to with very bad health anxiety but currently off my medication and powering through as much as I can ... This time of year I have very excitable young children that keep my mind occupied thankfully.
Hope you too find answers as soon as possible.
Emma
