Help wording day off work explanation

I’m in the middle of some worrying medical issues. I’ve been referred to the breast clinic due to 3 lumps I have found. (1 historic and previously checked and 2 new)
I’ve also had a pile of blood test done which I’ve just had the results of today - thankfully nothing major but I’m severely anaemic with low iron vit d and folate levels.

It’s all got a bit too much for me, I’m exhausted tearful and stressed myself into a severe migraine Sunday night/this morning so I didn’t go to work today and I just said migraine.

I’m relieved the blood tests haven’t shown anything awful but I just feel that holding it all together is too much for me today and I just don’t think I can go to work tomorrow. How do I word this on an answer machine message in the morning?

Could you just say that your migraine is still causing you to feel extremely unwell

"Hi, I am still unwell and won't be able to make it in to work today"

Could you say you have a slight medical issue that has come to light and you need a further day off to deal with it? And maybe say call back if any further clarification is required? You may be better able to explain things if you talk to an actual person, if they call back? Hope you begin to feel better x

Say you’re waiting for test results. I would phone now and leave the message. I’d say I’m still not 100%, I’ve had tests and am awaiting results I’ll call and update later. I wouldn’t be going into loads of detail on a machine so you could request your manager calls you during work time to discuss.
Taking time off because of health related stress is a totally valid absence.
