Microblading - am I going to look stupid for a week to ten days?!

Having this done next week and I know they will be darker than I want for the couple of weeks after the procedure, but will I look like a clown?

Has anyone had this then had to go into hiding till there brows calmed down? 😂

I went into hiding.. my husband said I looked like sexy cartoon villain 😂

Hetyanni · 22/11/2021 18:14

Yeah a bit, I carried on as normal though. Just own it. They look great before too long!

Twiglets1 · 22/11/2021 18:18

I’m a week in and had to go back to work today. Felt quite self conscious but what can you do? My colleagues were very nice about it and said they looked good but they’re still too dark for me ( and a bit scabby too!)

Can you wear glasses?

MistressoftheMundane · 22/11/2021 18:24

@Coldtoday - that's a great idea!

Oh poo - sounds like I'm going to be looking startled for Santa!

I wear glasses but only for close work. I bought some clear plastic ones from Top Shop just to wear around to deflect from my Angry Bird brows!

FabelTable · 22/11/2021 18:27

Yes very dark then scabby and patchy! Mine never looked right and I've been left with awful flakey skin on my eyebrows years later Angry

Whingasaurus · 22/11/2021 18:27

Mine were tight sire and a bit silly the first day but they were OK in a couple if days but I do have a fringe. It's the best beauty decision I've made and I'm going to grave microbladed Grin

Ooh I'm interested in this.

How long to they look shit for before they settle?

How painful is it?

It was quite painful when the anaesthetic gel wore off but I could cope with it and I’m a coward. Too soon to say if I like it or not really, have to wait for them to settle
MistressoftheMundane · 22/11/2021 20:04

@MoverCat - when we're yours done? Are you brave enough to post photos? Grin

That goes for anyone else as well, especially if you have before and afters

Mine were dark dark for about a week, color settled after 3 weeks but I had a touch up after 6 weeks so repeated the process. I took the week off from work since I couldn't wash my face or hair in the shower. My DP washed my hair in the kitchen sink....now that's love

I haven't yet, but I want to!

They do it at the tattoo studio I go to and I've always wanted to do it but too scared.

Look into powder brows instead. Less painful, no real downtime (they just looked very 'done' for 5 days or so but not enough to comment on) Very Slight flaking

ToooSensitive · 22/11/2021 20:48

My brows look dark / scabby for about a week but not too awful. I don’t think anyone else really notices to be honest.

I’ve just booked my 3rd top up - I’ve been so happy with the results of microblading.

HermioneWeasley · 22/11/2021 20:50

It’s fine, just a bit dark. Unless you have an allergic reaction to the numbing cream and end up looking like Jackie Stallone.

askingforafriend80 · 22/11/2021 21:31

5 days of hiding then it’s not so bad and sooooo worth it! Smile
Also they will be far to dark for the first few days… do not panic!
