If you met your partner in the last 5 years, how did you meet?

I'm intrigued about just how many people do actually meet through online dating, versus other ways in everyday life? I've concluded that online dating really isn't good for me, so please give me hope! I met exh through online, but that was 13 years ago when it was rarer I think.

So, how did you meet if you got together in the last 5-6 years?

My colleague (at the time) and friend is the girlfriend of one of my now-husbands best friends, and she just saw it working between us, so she gave him my number and we went on a blind-ish date. Nearly six years, a marriage and a baby later, clearly she was right!

We got together almost three years ago. Met each other playing Pokémon Go!

We met almost two years ago at work. We’d worked in the same building for nearly 2 years before we caught each other’s eye and NEVER bumped into each other! So there is hope OP.

My friend has just got engaged and met his fiancée 3 years ago through a mutual friend

3 years ago through a combined hobby. Nothing romantic happened until last year. If he'd asked me out on a date in the first 18 months i would have run away.

Not me but my sister. It was a cousin of a long time friend of hers. He was staying over for a family weekend.

I met my now husband through an online dating app. We are coming up to to 5 years together in Jan, and celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary Sept just gone.

Me too but that was 12 years ago now!

I met partner just over 5 years ago through a mutual friend. Due to be married next year!

DS met his partner on Tinder. They've been together for 4.5 years.

Met on Facebook after we'd been casual acquaintances 40 years ago.

My partner and I met 6 years ago on plenty of fish. Tbh I met a few weirdos and a couple of men just out for sex but my POF experience was mostly positive, the majority of the men I met I were really nice but just not for me. We were late 20s/early 30s when we met.

My siblings all met their partners "in real life" though. My sister met her bf at uni, my younger brother met his gf at the gym, and my other brother met his gf at work. I've never personally had much luck meeting romantic partners organically.

Starting dating someone I'd been platonic friends with a long time, does that count?!
