Adult self propelled scooter

During the winter one of the walks I take my dogs out on is a remote area that has paths so that I don’t have to traipse in mud!

It is a site that was going to be a business park but never got completed. They put in paths and lights but the development hasn’t got any further.

I occasionally see another person walking their dog over there but very rarely.

Would I be mad to buy a fold up scooter to go round on?

The dogs go off in the fields around the path so are zooming around or sniffing for rats, foxes etc!

It’s a boring walk for me so I thought a scooter would liven it up!

The rest of the time I go on walks through beautiful forests, countryside and beaches so have plenty to look at. This site is rather bland.

Do any of you have a scooter? I’m looking at Euroskateshop to buy from but there is a lot of choice. I don’t want one that the wheels have to be pumped up.

I’m 5’8” so it has to be an adult one not a child size.

I have a decathlon scooter which has been brilliant for short local trips, and trying to keep up with my 3 year old on his scooter. Warning, it basically is standing on 1 leg for extended periods of time, so you will feel it. Also be careful if it is uneven, I had a friend falling flat, breaking her nose.

@SvartePetter thank you. The paths are flat and even.

I’m only over there for an hour so I shouldn’t feel any strain and as they’re portable I can fold up and carry if I want.

I'm 5'8" too

My kids scoot to school and I takes 30 mins so I was wrecked attempting to keep up. Now I scoot with them and speed home to work. Absolutely love it.

Thank you but I definitely don’t want one of them or a skateboard!

I love kickscooting. I’ve started with a Razor which had hard wheels and then when that died (after many miles) I got a Decathlon one. Now I live in Glasgow it’s too wet and rainy to risk the hard shiny wheels so I upgraded to a Boardy with pneumatic tyres. It’s amazing but they’re now horrifically expensive. Check out OP Scooters as they have a great range, also Go Ped as they have hard rubber wheels. I recommend it as a fun way to travel but do think it’s worth the extra for proper tyres. 🛴

DH has a Decathlon commuter scooter.
Being a shortarse, I have a kids one Grin

They do work your glutes and hamstrings. It's basically hundreds of little lunges!
