My manager is lovely but my God she never.stops.talking.

She has an opinion on everything and loudly states it at any opportunity, ploughing on and on, she just loves the sound of her own voice.

I try to keep busy and avoid eye contact but she'll follow you round or just talk over everyone else.

It's driving me insane, how do you cope with it?

Tell her to STFU 😉😁

leafygarden42 · 22/11/2021 12:51

Hth

Hobnobswantshernameback · 22/11/2021 12:52

Headphones?

wheresmyhairytoe · 22/11/2021 12:53

I'm saying that internally 😂

I'm on my dinner break and can still bloody hear her.

She moans about how much she has to do and I want to scream "we'll stop bloody talking to everyone and you might get it done!"

No headphones unfortunately.

I have people who work next to me who do the same, it is like a running commentary of whatever they are working on/who they have spoken too.

Noise cancelling earphones and telling them I was wearing them to concentrate on what I was working on did the trick.

tectonicplates · 22/11/2021 13:18

People like this are so exhausting. They sap all your energy. I don't know if they even realise how much they take out of other people.

wheresmyhairytoe · 22/11/2021 17:34

Enjoying the peace now after 7 relentless hours 🙄

Nature of the job means no headphones as need to be communicating and listening all the time.

Ask her to do a sponsored silence?Grin

wheresmyhairytoe · 22/11/2021 17:40

I work with someone like this. She also announces all her toilet breaks Confused

LeicesterIntheMorning · 22/11/2021 17:49

She's lovely how? She sounds like a nightmare. There are so many people like this where I work. It drives me bonkers. It is so bloody selfish!

wheresmyhairytoe · 22/11/2021 17:58

She is really easy going, fab when I've needed time off for mental health or childcare issues, complete opposite of my last boss.
It's just the constant opinions on everything and the none stop talking.

A variation of this is the hairdresser who interrogates you while you are stuck in the chair. No, I am not going anywhere on holiday this year, I'm not doing anything nice this weekend I'm not going out tonight. Stfu and cut!!

Maskless · 22/11/2021 18:17

Which reminds me, has anoyone found a way to make a hairdresser STFU without offending her?

lololololollll · 22/11/2021 19:13

Thought maybe you were talking about my 3 year old

MorganSeventh · 22/11/2021 19:21

While I know not everyone likes hotdesking, my work introducing hotdesking provided a useful way to escape from the incessant chatters.

I don't mind this. I hate it when they don't talk. It's awkward as arse, sitting in silence all that time.
