Do you have a fitted wardrobe?

Anyone able to help me get started with a fitted wardrobe?

I bought my house as a fixer-upper and there was no inbuilt storage. We’ve been fudging solutions with a cheap wardrobe while we I worked on the rest of the house but it doesn’t use all the available space and I now want to get a fitted wardrobe. The trouble is, I don’t know where to go or what it will cost.

We’re working within a budget as we have the bathroom to fix yet so I don’t want to commit to getting quotes for the wardrobe as it will really depend on the price how soon we can afford to do it.

So please, tell me about where you got your wardrobes from and the price! Thanks in advance

Hi,
We used a local carpenter on a recommendation from a friend. In fact I saw hers and was really impressed with the standard.

I had a full size built in to a chimney breast recess with a double wardrobe and a cupboard on one side with shelves. The wardrobe had three drawers and a rail and there is a further large cupboard across the single and double elements above where I store suitcases.

I can DM you pics if you like.

The cost was around £1300 unpainted but I love it and admire it every time we use it.

I have other built ins around the house from when we moved in and other building work but this is my favourite.

Oh, also went for shaker style doors which added to the cost a little.

We used a local company. Cost 4k. We absolutely love it. Oddlt makes getting ready easier.

The cupboards at the top middle contain all out towels etc. The others have Christmas presents in there so we have more room than we need.

When dp moved in, he brought his TV. Which is huge. I already had a good TV downstairs so it's on the wall in the bedroom. So we had the wardrobes built around it.

I used a local sole trader, my wardrobe is nothing too fancy, triple width with sliding doors and rails / shelves to my specifications inside.

As I recall it was £1500 which included painting, and getting a sparky in to move a light switch.

We used a local joiner for two alcove wardrobes. Double wardrobe size (imagine a wardrobe with two doors and single rail across - two of those)

£1600 for both fitted and finished. Very sturdy.

You pay more for real oak doors etc
