Resigning in an open plan office

I need to resign tomorrow and I am going to start with a face to face chat with my line manager.

But thereafter I will need to put it in writing via email to the company directors. There are two of them and they will be right in my line of sight when I hit send!

I don't know what I'm asking really but I'd prefer to send the email in writing to them in the evening? Just trying to avoid incredible awkwardness.

I'd send in the evening

I'd send it in the evening.

Can you tell them verbally and say they’ll be receiving it by email shortly?

BIWI · 21/11/2021 17:13

Why don't you write a physical letter and leave it on their desks? Then no-one else can inadvertently read it on their screen, and you won't know when they open it!

Is it possible to schedule an email to send at a certain time?

SheWoreYellow · 21/11/2021 17:14

Won’t your line manager tell them?

superplumb · 21/11/2021 17:25

Send but hit the delay send time..ideally 5 mins after youve left for the day.

myheartskippedabeat · 21/11/2021 17:44

I'd send it tonight with a final paragraph

"Owing to the office accommodation being open plan I've sent this to you now and would be happy to arrange a meeting to discuss leaving arrangements/ handover etc"
