My ds17 is getting a lift home from a party and isn't in or answering his phone. I'm getting really worried....

What time is he due home? yep have been there in the past

YukoandHiro · 21/11/2021 02:10

Poor you OP, I'm nowhere near that yet (I'm awake as I'm still bf my youngest who is just turned one), but I was that teenager who caused my poor mum all sorts of worry. I'm certain he's just having a brilliant time and either lost track of time or at worst managed to lose his phone as he's had a few drinks. He'll be home before you know it.
Can you read a book or watch some tv to distract yourself? I know you'll pretend to either be fast asleep or just woken up for a wee when he finally comes in :)
Xxx

Stupidly I didn't give a time as I was grateful to the parent picking him up but I don't have his number only his wife's and she is probably asleep. Sad

I won't this time as I am furious that his phone is off!

I am awake for a completely different reason but I remember how tough those teenaged nights out were. I hope you hear soon.

Maidofdishonour · 21/11/2021 02:43

I’ve been there too. My advice would be to be welcoming when he gets home. Say how relieved you are and that you will talk in the morning.

Maidofdishonour · 21/11/2021 02:43

…..then give him hell with his hangover!

WaterAndRichTea · 21/11/2021 02:46

In the morning, Wake him with the hoover, Banging and crashing and any other ‘loud’ thing you can think of

Dont let him have his hang over in peace 😂

I literally have no idea why some parents on here are so mean to their kids. Confused
MissCruellaDeVil · 21/11/2021 03:21

His phone has probably run out of battery. He will be fine, is he back yet?

YukoandHiro · 21/11/2021 07:07

Did he come home safely OP?

I'm always appalled when people suggest this sort of thing. It's terrible parenting.

Thank you everyone. He got in at 3am. The dad who was giving them a lift home had car problems and thought ds had told me but ds's phone had died. Of course he didn't think to ask to borrow a phone....

No hangover though! I don't think they had been drinking, at least not much. Of course, I now feel like a zombie and he's as right as rain. Thank you all for the reassurance.
