Christmas Tree Lights - How Many?

Hello Mumsnetters,
It's almost time to put up my Christmas Tree and I'm in need of new lights. I have a 7ft (2.15m) and taking in to account, I love lights, In your opinion, what is the perfect length to purchase. Google is telling me for a 7ft tree, 20m is the best fit 'and a good rule of thumb is 100 lights for every 1.5 feet of tree. However, if you love lights, you may want to double, or even triple, that amount.' My current lights are approx 30 m and it's not enough for my personal taste. A local store has 40m and 60m but I'm concerned the 60m may be too many.
What are your thoughts? Do you love lights and what length would you suggest? TIA

We have a 7-8ft tree and have only ever had 2 strings of lights! (Colourful, I love them the best, so nostalgic of my grandparents tree in the 80’s)
Feels enough for me, it’s a real tree, lights and some decorations etc but honestly I don’t like the crazy amounts of lights some people put on, they’re a bit dazzling Grin
My mum must use about 600 on her smaller tree, every time I go round there I feel like they’re going to trigger a migraine!!

I do 100 lights for 1ft of tree generally, except I've actually got 1000 lights for what is usually an 8ft tree. It works well.
