I would like to buy some wool socks for a present. I know the person likes wool but I don't know what size to get.

I know the socks I am looking at come in a size 4 to 7, and
7 to 11.

I am a size 7. I know the lady I am thinking about is taller than me. I think she would be 5ft 7. So I presume she would have a bigger shoe size than me too.

I am not too sure what size to get for her.

I am thinking about getting size 7 to 11. I wonder would that be OK. And if it doesn't fit her she could nearly give them to her partner.

I'm 5' 8" and have size six feet. I wouldn't get the larger size unless she has wide feet. Do you see her often? Maybe discreetly compare your shoes with her?

I would go for size 4-7, I think a lady having a shoe size bigger than a 7 would be unusual. The 7-11 size sounds more like mens

Most standard women's socks are size 4-7 so I would go with that if in doubt. Size 7-11 is going to be massive on her if she's anything 7 and under.

I can't vouch for many other brands but when I buy Darn Tough they shrink and are quite small
