Children In need....

Before anyone has a go I have donated this year as I do every year for children in need.
But every year I find myself asking myself the same question, Why don't the rich and wealthy donate to help these people?
Maybe I'm being naive but the way I see it is surely if the likes of Bill Gates etc donated a Mill to children in need it would be amazing?!
Yet every year we are expected to donate, normal hard working people who have money issues etc themselves. Don't get me wrong even if when times have been right I've still donated but it just seems weird.
Just curious what the reason is why the rich don't donate really 🤨

How do you know they don’t? There are so many good causes that I expect they have to spread their money. For example - Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman donating £10k each to those 3 men walking in the UK to raise funds for suicide awareness - their walk caught the attention of DC (and NK then followed DC) - but it wouldn’t have made the news if DC hadn’t donated.

I always remember what came out after George Michael died - he donated millions v privately. I expect a lot of the wealthy quietly do donate lots and lots. And Bill Gates is going to give away most of his money and is busy eradicating polio and malaria.

You’re not wrong in theory, but as Bill Gates has given well over $30bn (yes, billion) to his foundation, it’s slightly unfair to single him out.

How do you know they don’t?

And isn’t Bill Gates American?

Google 'The Giving Pledge'

That's not what CIN is for. It's to gather money from the common people rather than well-known, rich philanthropists. Those types give in different ways and this isn't appropriate for them. They would expect more accountability and wouldn't get that from CIN.

Wow I didn't actually know this. Amazing 👏🏻
