Have you seen someone who looks like you?

Last night I posted a message because I was almost in shock at discovering a young woman in a porn movie who is so like how I looked when I was young. It was weird, she had my shaped face, very fair skin colour and black hair. My Irish relatives have this colour/complexion mix. I even went to an old box of souvenirs and found a school photograph from 54 years ago to compare.
The other part of the coincidence is that was the first time I had ever watched a porn site. Also, it made me think about my best friend of that time.

Have other people ever found a close resemblance to themselves or relatives?

Yes, many years ago there was a doctor on Casualty (not one of the main characters). She was only in one episode. I thought there was a resemblance, I had 4 friends phone me during the episode (pre mobile phones / texts) to see if it was me!

I've seen a photo of someone who looked very much like me, the girlfriend of a friend of my DBs. I thought it was me for a moment until I realised (a) I didn't have a dress like that (it was one I'd have liked) and (b) I'd not attended the event it was taken at.

I haven't but plenty of my friends and family have seen my doppelgangers. My mum went up to a young woman outside her work (about ten years ago now) and asked her what she was doing there, thinking it was me. My granny phoned me to tell me off for ignoring her on a bus - again it wasn't me!

DH says there's a woman who lives around here and the resemblance is scary. Apparently she is the same height and body type as me, similar hair cut and colour, she also wears glasses and the same style of clothes as me, down to the exact same trainers. He says he always has to do a double take when he sees her. What's weirder is I live in a totally different city to the rest of my family now so she can't be one of the other imposters people have seen over the years.

My mum was on holiday (in her youth) and saw someone that looked so similar to her that she said it was like looking in a mirror. According to mum they both did a double-take, paused for a second and just carried on walking opposite ways down the beach.

She says she wishes she had gone after the other girl and said something, might have been a long lost relative. Whenever she has mentioned in it she always says what a strange experience it was.

Yep, someone on Youtube who uploads covers of songs. First time I saw her was just after New Year a few years back and I genuinely had to click just to check it wasn't something I'd done and uploaded while drunk on NYE!

After hearing about my then-boyfriend’s mates’ wife for ages, when we finally managed to meet up, we were both gobsmacked that we looked almost identical.
Weirdly , despite me having met his mate, and my then-boyfriend having met his mates’ wife previously - neither of them felt it necessary to mention how similar we looked!!!

Yes she was coming out of WHSmiths in Gloucester in 1996 as I was going in.

Only on tv. I wasn’t watching the film but passing through the room and I thought how am I on tv? Specifically me on my wedding day. Took a second to realise it was the person I’ve been compared to a lot but I totally don’t see it (til then)

Yes, and oddly, it was a boy!
We were in highschool at the time, so I did have a far more athletic frame then, but still!
We had the same face practically, same hair (long, straight , blond) same grey eyes, high cheekbones, even the same walking gait.
The first time we passed each other in the hall, we both stopped and stared, and kind of laughed.
It was noticed by a lot of people, they would ask us if we were twins, siblings, whatever.
Not related as far as I know, but when had both family from the same parts of Europe a few generations back.

There is a women on Tiktok that looks like me. The video was discovered by a friend of my DS1's to much hilarity as she's doing a stupid dance.

Also not unsurprisingly but I have a second cousin who I haven't seen in person since I was about 10 (I am in my 50s now) although we are FB friends.

Her daughter who must be in her 20s, looks just like me when I was younger but with different colour hair. Almost like a twin. I know we are related but only distantly. I've never met the girl, just seen her on Facebook but it's like looking at a photo of myself and it freaks me out.

Many years ago, my partner came in from work waving a copy of the daily sport angrily demanding to know what the hell I was playing at.
There was a picture of a half baked woman in there, in the personal ad section if I remember correctly, who was my double, right down to the shape and size of her breasts!!
It took me ages to convince him that it really wasn't me.
Worse is, the paper actually belonged to his colleague who shoved it under my partner's nose and asked him what his missus was doing advertising sex!
