DD 10 months currently got a cold....I too have got a bad head cold (not covid) and seem to have it worse than her even though she's the one who gave it to me grrrr.

Since being put to bed she keeps waking up, tossing and turning - fidgeting. She's not well bless her but neither am I. Feel like crap and cannot breathe wondering how I'm going to survive these next few days.

No one to come and help with anything so will have to ride this out on our own.

Tips please :(

Sorry you're both unwell. I've recently been through the same as me and baby DD both caught hand food and mouth while my middle ds had an ear infection. Hubby works 12 hour days. I found a few things helped - take care of yourself first - plenty painkillers /decongestants/warm drinks - whatever works for you. Then you'll be in the best possible state to care for dd. Try and time naps together so you can both rest. Dont be strict on the usual routine, take it easy, go gently. Do you have a partner or family who could help? Sit with dd while you nap?

Feel better soon x

Go easy on yourself in the mornings. You'll probably have stressful nights and not get the sleep you need. So take the mornings easy. Put something on the tv for her, make yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee, cuddle and be lazy. Fresh air in the afternoons to help her sleep. Calpol plug in and a diffuser to keep her airways clear wherever she sleeps x

We have all been ill over last 2.5 weeks, no one has had a full Night sleep that whole time. We have watched a lot of films, lots of calpol, lots of convenience foods, lots of day nurse and a few walks here and there! We made it...just.

Thanks all. Sorry to hear that you've been going through it too, it's a nightmare isn't it :(

@blackcoffeenosleep unfortunately there's no bell so will just have to drag ourselves through it. I've just had a lemsip in the hope that it will help a bit before bed but doesn't seem to be doing anything. Got vapour rub on my chest and under my nose but still congested!

I went out today and got a plug in and other supplies as I had a feeling I would go downhill. At least I won't have to go out for shopping etc and have everything I need indoors.

@HalloHello the sleep is the worst bit! We co-sleep but that isn't going to work until we get better as at the moment I need to be propped up on a million pillows to breathe. I'm currently holding DD while she sleeps but she keeps waking up every hour :(

Will she sleep better on then lowest non flat setting of the buggy?
Make sure she is somewhere safe so you can nap. Can you move the cot in front of the tv? If you don't want her to watch tv, could you stream some photos onto the screen?
