Looking back to getting into work

I’ve been a SAHM for a long time. I’m looking to get back into work. Previously I’ve worked in admin. What career is best to get into I would like to do something that has chance for progression over the years and would pay well. Willing to work hard and put the effort in. Thank for you help.
I’m 45 and been a SAHM for 15years.

Have you considered doing a qualification or more training? The other thing that I didn’t know is you can do an apprenticeship at any age.

I’ve been out of work for 4 years so not as long as you but I’m doing an HR qualification. No luck in getting a job yet. There are some companies that want to employee people that have been out of the workplace for a while. Capegemini is one. Take a look on Glassdoor you can see companies on there. Get your cv up to scratch and put it on all the job sites such as Indeed, Total Jobs, Reed etc. Get a LinkedIn profile. Get a good covering letter together too, like a personal statement, explain what you’ve been doing for 15 years. Mothers have a lot of transferable skills like planning. Sign up to get job alerts. I once was made redundant and was helped through the transition by a consultant who said ‘ looking for a job is a job in itself’ that’s how you need to look at it. Best of luck x

If you go on to the CIPD website it explains the types of qualification you can do. I do mine through a company called Avado

This is the board you want:
