Not a murder mystery party but similar

Hi all,

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as we are well and truly stuck for ideas for DC's 11th birthday.

We like the idea that one friend had of a murder mystery and the parents used one of those murder mystery all in a box type of thing.

Are there any other games similar? Happy to do it at home for about 10 of them.

Movie is not our first choice as they don't really sit for 2 hours to watch a film. Looking for something inventive! But can't think of what.

A spy party. Make your own games. Give them spy names. Shoot outs, spot the difference, get through the lazar beams (red wool with bells on) with out being noticed. Follow the secret clues to the prize (cake)

There are a lot of escape room/puzzle things you can do at home now. My best friend and I did a Sherlock Holmes one over Zoom during lockdown. It was great fun!
